Terry Klumpp was born in Houston, Texas and has lived in Portland, Oregon, Los Angeles, California and currently resides and works in Mexico City, Mexico.
Influences and inspirations include Emil Nolde, Max Beckman, Georges Rouault, William de Kooning, Charles Bukowski, Tom Waits, and others.
A professional fine artist as well as an art director and graphic designer, Terry Klumpp brings elements of both practices into the execution and imagery of his work.
Expressionistic and complex, his paintings seek to create the space for an audience to engage in contemplative speculation as well as participate in the creative process themselves by developing their own personal stories based on the form, shape, color and balance presented to them.
